چکیده

Orchid plants are in great demand by the public as ornamental that have economic value and beauty of attractive flower shapes colors, especially Phalaenopsis Dendrobium. Related to this, conservation efforts needed through cultivation. However, these often hampered viral infections. One viruses trigger inhibition orchid cultivation appears is ORSV. Control relatively safe efficient can utilize mycorrhizae orchids which play a role increasing absorption plant nutrients. The use Dendrobium with induction Rhizoctonia sp. against ORSV very important alternative biofertilizer biocontrol agent. objectives this study were 1) determine effectiveness induced resistance, 2) viability leaf organs infection, 3) root resulting from resistance infection. This was conducted January 2021 – March at Botanical 2 Laboratory, Department Biology, Faculty Mathematics Natural Sciences, University Lampung. employed completely randomized factorial 6 treatments 4 replications. variable observed mycorrhizae, length, number leaves roots, width. data obtained homogenized using Levene's test then analyzed ANOVA Tukey's further 5% level. results showed occurred on 3rd day incubation. In organs, amabilis an increased response discolour decreased width, number. Meanwhile, organ, length roots.

Reciprocal function of movement proteins and complementation of long-distance movement of Cymbidium mosaic virus RNA by Odontoglossum ringspot virus coat protein.

Complementation of movement and coat proteins of the orchid-infecting potexvirus Cymbidium mosaic virus (CymMV) and tobamovirus Odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) was investigated. Nicotiana benthamiana, which is susceptible to both CymMV and ORSV, was used as a model system. Four transgenic lines, each harbouring one of the movement protein (MP) or coat protein (CP) genes of CymMV or ORSV, we...

Induction of RNA-mediated resistance to papaya ringspot virus type W.

Transformation of cantaloupes with the coat protein (cp) gene of papaya ringspot virus type W (PRSV-W), Thai isolate, was used to introduce virus resistance. Binary vectors containing either the full length coat protein coding region under control of the 35S CaMV promoter(pSA1175), or the inverted-repeat of a coat protein coding region (pSA1304), were constructed and used for Agrobacterium-medi...

Detection of Cymbidium Mosaic Virus (CYMV) on Vanda Plants

Orchid plants are the members of Orchidaceae consisting of more than 25,000 species, which are distributed almost all over the world but more abundantly in the tropics. There are 177 genera, 1,125 species of orchids that originated in Thailand. Orchid plant collected from different nurseries showing Chlorotic and mosaic symptoms were observed on Vanda plants and it was suspected to infect with ...

Induction of Resistance to Potato Virus Y (PVY) Using Hairpin Construct of Coat Protein

Potato virus Y (PVY) is one of the most damaging viruses of potato plants which infecting most cultivars and causing significant yield and economical losses. The application of the concept of pathogen derived resistance opened new horizons for the development of virus-resistant plants. This research was carried out to study RNA silencing to engineered potato plants that are resistant to potato ...

Mutation of Phe50 to Ser50 in the 126/183-kDa proteins of Odontoglossum ringspot virus abolishes virus replication but can be complemented and restored by exact reversion.

Sequence comparison of a non-biologically active full-length cDNA clone of Odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) pOT1 with a biologically active ORSV cDNA clone pOT2 revealed a single nucleotide change of T-->C at position 211. This resulted in the change of Phe50 in OT2 to Ser50 in OT1. It was not the nucleotide but the amino acid change of Phe50 that was responsible for the inability of OT1 to ...
